Firearm Classification
All the gun-trivia in the world won’t help you until you know the information in this module. If you walk away with the ability to explain this module’s content to others, you are well on your way to subject matter expertise. This training module gives you the ability to classify any Gun Control Act (GCA) firearm, according to ATF definition. It explains that under Federal law, there are things which shoot, but are not firearms, and there are things which do not shoot, but which are considered firearms. The module also explains the five categories of guns under the GCA. Those being Pistol, Revolver, Rifle, Shotgun, and the “Other” category that so few people, (even Dealers and Manufacturers) are clear on. This category includes Receivers and Pistol-grip Firearms. The module also covers the recent introduction of “Forearm Braces”, and explains ATF’s ruling on their status.
